Tantallon South Civic Association meeting is held 8:00pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Potomac Landing Elementary School.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I do not know when we really got back to this point in our community. Things have been quiet for a while until I was touched.
Yes, some people broke into my home. They broke into my home. They parked a car in my driveway to cart off my 42” plasma TV and a few precious belongings.
My life will never be the same. Do I trust the community? I cannot give an answer right now. To my astonishment, NOBODY saw a thing. I live on a well traveled street with neighbors on both sides and diagonally across the street and NOBODY saw a thing.
The thieves made away with many things of value to me and belongings of my visiting guest from overseas. They spent quite a considerable amount of time in my home. They went through every room, ransacked my entire house including my kitchen cabinets. Yet, NOBODY saw a thing.
The confidence, the timing and how everything was orchestrated pointed my mind in one of two directions. My mind set is on the less obvious one. I am not going say too much right now because of the ongoing investigation.
I guess the problem we thought we solved almost ten years ago is back in the community and no one is immune. This was the main reason we came together as a community. We don’t have to take a defeatist attitude. We just have to redouble our efforts to make sure it does not happen again. Trust NOBODY. Call the Police whenever you see anything suspicious. I know one thing for a fact, SOMEBODY saw something. I would like to hear from you PLEASE. Help put the thieves in LOCK UP.
